Happy Birthday Mom,

Well it’s my mom’s birthday today and while I don’t have a decent picture of her to post that doesn’t stop me from wishing her a happy birthday anyway.

I’ve had a quote stuck in my head for about 3 days and I wanted to know if anyone knew where it was from. Of course now that I have actually though about asking I forget the quote. It was from some bizarre movie I think.

Things here are trudging along nicely I guess. Steph finishes her clinical on the 28th and shortly there after should have a job.

I lose my SUV for a few months (today) as I am renting it out to my relatives who are home from the Dominican Republic for a few months. That’s okay though. It’s the summer and as long as the frozen foods don’t melt on the way home everything is good. Besides I need the exercise now more than ever.

I’m still feeling uninspired to write. I have ideas, and while sitting on my throne contemplating life or in the shower lines and ideas pour out my ears never to be remembered once I am sitting in front of some sort of transcribing media.

I’m giving my mom the lamest gift. 4 coupons to go to the driving range with me. She gave me the idea a few months ago for mothers day, and since I don’t know what else to get her, I though I would give her time with me doing something we both enjoy. I also gave her a naff homemade card.

I guess I should start my game soon since I have two people bugging me to call. I still need a lot of states and provinces but since I haven’t been promoting it, that makes it difficult to get help.

Wow; I hate it when the English language gets mangled like that.

Kitchen Update with pictures

mom2some pointed out that I have not updated about my kitchen in a while. I just haven't had anything picture worthy happen until the floor. I was going to keep it a surprise but I guess since she asked for pictures, I'll show the updated kitchen to date. Now on Monday they are coming to finish it up, and within the end of the month they are going to have it tiled and painted as well, and then finished!. So sometime next month look for the before and after videos along with before and after pictures to see the transformation from ugly ducking to beautiful swan.

My floor. Sorry about the flash spot, but the only other picture didn't show the colours very well

Looking down the galley from about where my wall oven is located. I'm surprised that there is more room than it looks like there is

My new prep counter. Perfect size for chopping and preparing foods. It is very handy with the stove right behind me.

My knife and utensil rack that is above my prep counter. I haven't unpacked them all yet.

My new sink and faucet. I love the sink and a half. The larger left side has been great and usefull

My microwave shelf. Well the microwave doesn't blow anymore, the shelf is still too small and they said they would enlarge it for me. It only needs a couple of inches

Looking down the galley from the other end. At the very end you see Tigger

My new fridge which goes next to the microwave counter. There is a cabinet that goes over top which isn't installed yet.

My pride and joy. My new cook top. As you walk past the entrance to the kitchen (where I took this picture from) that is what you see. I'm thrilled the range hood turned out better than I could have hopped for.

My double wall oven. I haven't used the bottom one yet

My front window. You can see my beautiful garden which needs some alterations (and some colour).

The cupboards are in, but the desk isn't yet.

The little space between the wall ovens and the wall. No idea what I'm going to use this place for exactly other than holding a giant mess

Another one of my prep counter showing the holders. I used my new indoor grill to cook that pork tenderloin and it was yummy

My baby up close and personal.

And finally the counter which has the sink, dishwasher, and my indoor grill.

I'm pretty sure you have noticed that there are a few knobs missing, well they haven't come yet, but it is pretty close to done. Not as bad as some of the horror stories I have been hearing about kitchen remodelling. But I've been told that since I was complaining they knew what to fix, the problem is most people don't speak up.

Well that's my kitchen update for now.

I need a muse

I say that with all the right intensions. I need inspration.

I do not care what form my muse takes, or even what relm. I have no insperation and have had none for a very long time.

I can feel the greatness in me wanting out, others have told me the same thing, yet it stays locked within me. My mind begging to set it free, the elusive it, knocking on my skull in an attempt to find a crack, however small, to allow the much need inpiration in. Only to find the seapage of dank falsaties from the fake muses of society.

I am almost certian that my quest is a simple one in words but complex in reality. What inspires people?

I read once that things which bring you joy also bring with them insperation.

I have found this not to be the case. There are coutless things which bring me joy and happness, however the elusive insperation still evades me while I am in a uforic state.

I do not understand what inspires people, I never have. I need to be inspired to have motovation. I really think that one can not exist without the other.

This is a call out to my muse - WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU? I NEED YOUR INSPIRATION!

Where I've been

I have been away for a while because I was depressed and just not feeling up to writing.

I spent quite a few days in bed, and doing nothing at all.

Then Steph talked me into running in a marathon in October.

I saw this as a chance to get back into shape. It has turned out to have just the opposite effect.

The first two days of training weren't great. I got massive shin splints after about 2.2 km (or 1.5 miles).

The big problem came on the third day when my right knee became excruciatingly painful, started giving out, and even locking a few times.

As it stands right now I gingerly and with extreme caution maneuver the stairs and any other situation that requires any flexing.

Needless to say the training and marathon are off for me. I go back to the doctors on July 6th to learn more.

I have had chronic knee problems ever since I was a child.

With the humidity reeking havoc on my arthritic fingers and elbows I'm guessing that at least part of my knee troubles is arthritis. It has also been suggested ligament damage, and I personally suspect something wrong with me cartilage.

I can feel my knee joint slipping apart, popping, and when navigating stairs the feeling of my knee joint going to break in two.

Thankfully I have not collapsed in over 24 hours now. The actual grinding, popping, feeling of it dislocating, and sharp dull pain every time I try to move it has gotten worse.

So that has been my last week in a nut shell.

I have also gotten my new Personal Video Recorder and I love it. The write up on it is true. It really is now TV on my terms.
